Congratulations to your 2036 OBWL Champions, the *Manhattan Swing!* PG Robert Morrison was voted Playoff MVP.
After starting the season 9-18 (.333) the Swing turned things around and finished on an impressive 38-15 (.717) run to secure the #6 seed in the NatCon Playoffs. Once there they shockingly swept the 51-win Inferno and then won three consecutive Game 7s to knock out the 53-win Knights, the 59-win Thunderbirds, and the 48-win Sun Kings to bring home the second Heikkinen Cup in franchise history!
Congratulations as well to the *Sun Kings* as well. After experiencing a bit of a championship hangover, winning 48 games compared to last season’s 67-win juggernaut, the Sun Kings played their best when it mattered most. They won three straight 4-2 series, knocking out the Chaos, the young and surging Gators, and the upstart Tritons before falling in 7 hard fought games to the Swing.
Congrats to *both Nate and Dom* on great seasons!
*NEXT STEPS*
It’s going to take a little time to get the offseason up and rolling. Keep an eye on MONDAY, 10/14 for an update with more specifics. I’ll get with Eric soon to get the upcoming draft class imported and posted.
Just as a further heads up, it looks like I will be doing a revision of the website this offseason — I checked and the WordPress theme this site uses is no longer being supported and there already bugs being reported for people who have upgraded the latest core WordPress build (6.4). We are currently running on 6.2, which is fine for now. But as I mentioned previously many of the features of this theme weren’t popular anyway so now is a good time to switch to a different layout — one that should be leaner, cleaner, and faster loading hopefully.
*Bottom Line:* I have to revise the site, I don’t think it will slow things down too much but there will probably be times where the site might be temporarily down, look weird, and/or act wonky while I switch things out.
