We will resume the playoffs tomorrow night (Friday) at the usual sim time.
*SCHEDULE UPDATE*
So here’s the thing: I need open heart surgery. Specifically a triple bypass and aortic valve replacement. The good news is that, for an American, I have good insurance so I’ll be able to get the surgery and have enough paid time off plus a critical illness benefit to properly recover.
The bad news (other than, you know, open heart surgery) is recovery can take anywhere from 1-3 months depending on how it goes. I have a appointment to see the cardiac surgeon next Tuesday (4/8) and I imagine they will schedule the surgery within a week of that.
In the meantime we will continue with our usual sim schedule up until the night before the surgery most likely. After that… I’m not sure. While the physical recovery is obvious I’ve read that after open heart surgery patients can experience mood swings, “brain fog,” and extreme fatigue. I’m hoping that for me recovery will be more a matter of taking painkillers and getting plenty of rest, and that a little time spent on the laptop to run sims won’t be a problem. We’ll just have to play it by ear after the surgery and see how it goes.
