PHOENIX (AP) – Arizona Thunderbirds center Doyle Wagoner has been named the National Conference Player of the Week for the week ending March 21, 2038 after a dominant four-game stretch that helped his team secure a 3-1 record.
Wagoner was a force on both ends of the floor, averaging 28.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. His offensive efficiency was outstanding, as he shot 56.8% from the field (46-for-81), 50.0% from three-point range (7-for-14), and 58.3% from the free-throw line (14-for-24).
Wagoner opened the week with a dominant 42-point, 9-rebound, 4-assist performance in a win over the Manhattan Swing, followed by 27 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists in another victory against the San Diego Storm. He continued his strong play with 34 points and 5 rebounds in a win over the Kentucky Stallions before finishing the week with 10 points and 5 rebounds in a rough loss to the Anaheim Archers.
With the playoffs approaching, Wagoner’s dominant inside presence and efficient scoring will be crucial for the Thunderbirds as they aim for a deep postseason run. If he continues this level of play, Arizona will be a serious contender for the OBWL championship.
